I’m currently attempting to fill in the gaps of part two of my teaching on prayer from this past Shabbath. There are several sections for which I’m struggling to clarify my thoughts, but I hope to have this ready in the next few days. I’m trying to present my thoughts on this subject into clear and understandable information, and I must say it is very difficult. How can I put this intangible sense of urgency into words? It feels like I’m trying to paint a picture of God. It’s a very difficult struggle for it to make sense. Your prayers are appreciated in this regard.

After realizing that I was guilty of one of my own pet peeves—not having a search feature to find web content—I decided it was time to incorporate one. At first I started using the one that came with my blogging application, but realized that it would only search through my blogs (not all of my other articles and such that are scattered throughout my website), and it was adware. So, I dumped it. The next thing I checked was to see if one came as a standard script with my web host. Nadda. Bummer. So, started searching. I didn’t want to spend any cashola (because I got none), but I wanted something that was highly customizable. Well, Baruch Hashem! I found exactly what I needed. If you notice, there is a search field at the top of every page of the site. This service is courtesy of Fluid Dynamics Search Engine, and I must say, I’m impressed. If you use it often, and would like to make a suggestion how it would work better, let me know and I’ll see if I can tweak it. I’ve already customized it quite a bit for better results and reporting for my site, but I’m sure it we always have room for improvement.

Well, I didn’t realize how many problems I had with my blog until recently. I noticed that there were a few things not working, as well as some of my images not showing up on the archived pages, which made the site look very broken and ugly. I apologize for not catching this sooner. I just don’t go digging through the archives on a regular basis, so it took a while to get noticed. BTW – if you ever see something that doesn’t look right on the site, please contact me to let me know.
Lasty, by correcting the other problems, I was able to get the RSS feed to work. If you are savvy enough to enjoy RSS feeds, here’s the link: feed://www.diggingwithdarren.com/blog/rss/digging.xml.

BLEPW Website
A friend of mine has recently created a website, called Blepw (Greek: “I See”) which is specifically geared towards Orthodox Christianity, but also as a means to facilitate interfaith dialogue. The site is mainly a discussion board (at this time) with topics ranging from Liturgy to Jewish / Christian dialogue. Drop by some time and tell Michael that Darren sent you.
DWD Updates
FYI – I’m continuing to update the site, slowly but surely. I had thought about including a discussion board on DWD, but I’m over-committed in my time as it is. I wouldn’t be able to facilitate it properly at this point. Maybe in the future. I’m thinking about using this Blog to post updates to the site as well. It might be a lot easier, and keep you posted on site changes quicker. I’ll mull it over.
Avi’s Galatians Commentary
I’ve just purchased twenty copies of Avi ben Mordechai’s Galatians Commentary. If you would like one, please let me know as soon as possible. I already have more than half of them spoken for. They are $50 each including shipping. (Yes, that’s a hefty price, but for this information — all 525 pages worth! — it’s a bargain, even if you don’t agree with his conclusions.) Please email me your address and I’ll ship them as soon as I get them. You can send me a check when you receive the book. The profit from the sale of these books will go to Rabbi Cohen’s ministry.
Email Me
Email me if you use this site. I would like to find out who is hitting the site, and how it is being used, and how it might be benefitting you. I would also like to hear your suggestions for the site as well.
Shalom,
-Darren
