Shalom Chaverim – Just a note to say that during this time of studying Pirkei Avot I was trying to update the text for it on my site and realized that I had some serious errors. Not only did I have wrong numberings of mishnayot, but chapter two was incomplete. I was missing 5 mishnayot! I am in the process of cleaning up all six chapters, as well as adding the Hebrew, so…if you see any errors on the pages that I have finished adding the Hebrew, please let me know so that I can correct them. Your help is appreciated.

Please note: I just changed my comment posting settings on my site. You will need to register and be logged in before you can post a comment. This should not be cumbersome, but an extra step you will probably need to take in order to post a comment. Over the last few months I have accumulated 5,491 spam comments on my site that I continually have to delete. Therefore, I’ve added a level of security that will help me not to have to deal with this as much. Thanks for understanding. Thanks for your comments. I sincerely appreciate them.

Please pardon the construction. If things look a little odd (like pages appearing and disappearing, or pages looking whacked out) for the next few days, it’s because I’m experimenting with ways to add new content in a method and structure that is suitable for my particular needs. Right now I’m attempting to add the full text of Pirkei Avot into WordPress to make it clearly formatted and easily accessible, linkable and searchable. Once I get this down like I want it, it will be easier to add the content to other public domain texts as well. Thanks for your patience.

I just want to apologize to those cool people who use an RSS aggregator to access my blog. When I made the switch to WordPress at the end of August, I failed to redirect the old RSS feed to the new one. So, if you are using some type of RSS reader and this is the first post you’ve seen in nearly a month, you should be able to see at least the last 15 posts on your reader now, and you’ll have to manually visit the site if you want to go back further than this. Thanks to Pierre for letting me know about this problem.

Shanah Tovah!

Just wanted to apologize for not posting much for quite a while. My day job has been pretty demanding these last couple of weeks. Also, I’ve been working on a commentary to Pirkei Avot, ch1m11 and it has actually taken on a life of its own. It has brought to surface a lot of tie-ins with the Apostolic Scriptures, particularly the words of the Master, and I don’t want to rush through it. I think you’ll find it interesting once the writing is complete. Thanks for your patience, and your continued visits. And thanks again to Boaz for the link.

Shalom,
-Darren
