Digging with Darren

Just wanted to let everyone know that I just got my desktop wallpapers moved over to my downloads page. I have a Torah Wallpaper and a Sabbath Wallpaper, and now they are available in four different sizes.

For some of you, this post may be coming as a big surprise, because you haven’t heard from me in ages. And the reason you may be hearing from me now is because my RSS feed is now working again due to an .htaccess redirect. You might want to take a look around and see what’s been going on in the many moons since we last spoke, and hopefully say hello in the process. I have launched a new, related site where I am posting eTexts such as Pirkei Avot, the Didache, Odes of Solomon, etc. (that’s actually all I have at the moment, but will be adding more as time goes on).

It will be my permanent repository for such texts and will be easily searchable. I through it together quickly, but it’s already very handy and easy to use. I plan on making it a lot more functional in the future. I would also like to know if anyone would volunteer to help me add texts from time to time. Yes, I have broken links for a little while, but at least I have a site that is working again. After fighting with my previous host and ancient WordPress installation, I decided on at least getting a quick-fix up, albeit a broken one, so that I could at least start posting again and fixing things along the way. So… If you run into a lot of broken links, I apologize in advance and will try to fix them as quickly as possible. Thanks for your patience and I look forward to getting back on the blogging wagon…

Ok- For a long time now, I’ve had my blog set up where people had to be registered and logged in, in order to comment because of horendous spam problem (most of which were pornographic in nature). I’ve turned this option off, since my spam filter seems to be doing a pretty good job now. I know several people have had trouble logging in, and haven’t been able to comment, so I’m going ot try this a while and see how it works. If you’ve been wanting to comment and haven’t been able to, now’s your chance. Looking forward to hearing from you…

Things I am in either the process of studying, writing about or modifying the site:

• Finishing the conference notes from the TWSWG conference
• Yeshua & Paul’s use of midrash in relationship to sowing & reaping
• Paul’s concept of sanctification via proximity (1 Cor 7:14) vis-a-vis Terumos 10:3
• Compiling the non-parable, ethical/wisdom teachings of Yeshua into a single volume
• Continuing Pirkei Avot commentary
• Adding ancient texts to the site
• Combining both “parts” of the site (pure html version vs. WordPress version) in to a unified and easily searchable site (via Drupal)

And this just scratches the surface…Oy vey!
