Well, there the stuff I have to read for school and stuff I want to read. For class I’ve been reading “Peoples of the Old Testament World” ed. by Alfred Hoerth, “Total Truth: Liberating Christianity from its Cultural Captivity” by Nancy Pearcey, and “Worship: Old and New” by Robert Webber. There all good reads. I have some issues with “Worship: Old and New,” but for the most part it shows continuity of worship between Testaments (I don’t like that phrasology, but you get what I mean).

On my own, I just finished up “Revelation’s Rhapsody” by Robert Lowery (see my blog for my review of it) and I’m trying to find time to continue “Everyman’s Talmud.” Of course, I’m also reading the Torah. It’s such a good book, y’all should check it out sometime :).

I love to learn. I am in a Bible study group that has been going through the gospels synoptically which took us about 2 1/2 years and we have just begun the book of Acts. All this from a Hebraic perspective.

What HaShem is teaching me is that without Him I can do nothing. I see many character issues in my life which need time spent with Him. Not just learning more, but being with Him in the Word and in prayer.

I am in the middle of a fabulous book called “Growth Through Tehillim
Exploring Psalms for Life Transforming Thoughts” by R Zelig Pliskin which has truly been transforming my thoughts, interactions and life! Then I’m getting a Chofetz Chaim e-gram a day to help mold my words into a better reflection of the Holy One. And next on my “to buy” list is “Orchos Tzaddikim”

I am finishing up my summer study project on the liturgical prayers. I have finished FFOZ’s “Knocking On Heaven’s Gates”, read through “To Pray As A Jew”, am currently finishing up “Praying As the Jew, Jesus”, and have bought a complete siddur and am doing the daily liturgical prayers.

I am also reading through “Everyman’s Talmud”, Tim Hegg’s Matthew Study that is updated weekly on his site, adn finishing up Vol. 1 of Torah Club.

My next projects include working through the “Basics of Biblical Hebrew”, it’s time for me to start learning the language.

I have a couple of books on my shelf waiting on me: “King of the Jews”, Introduction to Bible Hermenuetics”, and about 10 other odds and ends.

I am hoping to start Tim’s “The Messiah: An Introduction to Christology” when it becomes available.

In the midst of all this learning I am making the effort to put it all into practice, I recently started wearing tzitzit “full time”. I am also getting my house in order for the High Holy days.

I’m studying in several books right now: The Tanya, Rashi, Just got the Rubin Edition Kings, Rebbe Nachman’s The Empty Chair, and just trying to better understand the words of the Rishb”i. Love the site btw.
